The TWIN LAKES 20 is a fast and flat 20-mile race that will prepare you for your Spring Marathon experience without having to run on your own.

The TWIN LAKES 20 mile race will prepare you for your Spring Marathon experience without having to run on your own. You can enjoy the incredibly scenic, superfast and traffic-free 2-lap course through stunning Milton Keynes countryside. Starting with a lap of the beautiful Willen South Lake and then following the picturesque River Ouzel all the way to Caldecotte Lake before heading back to Willen via the Grand Union Canal, you’ll never be far from the water! The course is multi-terrain with about 80% on cycle paths with some gravel paths and the remainder on the canal towpath.
The TWIN LAKES 20 is a friendly event organised by Dirt Running with 10 years running event experience, making sure you have the best day possible.
This race is an ideal training run for anyone running Brighton, London and/or Milton Keynes Marathons.
This course is predominantly flat.
This event will be chip timed using state of the art disposable timing chips attached to the reverse of your running number.
Sorry, no late starters.
RACE TIME LIMIT
The time limit to complete the race will be 5 hours, which is based on 15 min/mile pace plus a 5min buffer to cross the start line.

GETTING TO WILLEN LAKE

BY CAR: Use the postcode MK15 0DS in your Sat Nav.
If you are on the M1, exit at Junction 14 and follow the signs to Central Milton Keynes until you pick-up the signs for Willen Lake.
PARKING: There are a number of chargeable car parks at Willen Lake. For more information on these please click here
BY BUS: Catch the number 8 bus from Milton Keynes town center to ‘Woolstone Roundabout West’.
Walking down from the bus stop, take the first right at the Redway junction under the main road, then take your first left into Willen Lake.
BY TRAIN: Direct trains to Milton Keynes Central run from London Euston and Birmingham. From Milton Keynes Central, it’s approximately 50 minutes walk or 12 minutes cycle. Alternatively, you can catch a bus or take a taxi.
There will be a large baggage tent next to the Race HQ. Please do not leave valuables in your bag. Bags are left at your own risk.
There won’t be any dedicated changing facilities.

The One4Six cafe will open at 9 am and closes at 12 am. It is located near the Event Village. It offers a range of hot and cold drinks and cakes.
Also, we will have some food vendors in the Event Village selling drinks and snacks.
There will be three water stops offering water in paper cups.
Water Stop 1: approx mile 3 and 13
Water Stop 2: approx mile 6 and 16
Water Stop 3: approx mile 10 and 20
There will be water and coke at the finish. Please put all the rubbish in the large bins provided and only drop litter at water stops or give it to a course marshal.
PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE ANY LITTER OR GEL WRAPPERS ON THE COURSE.
There will be portable toilets in the Event Village and at water stops.
You will be able to purchase merchandise during the registration process or at a later date as long as you do it before the event closes, by logging back into your Active account here: myevents.active.com. Merchandise purchased will be posted out monthly. You will also be able to buy merchandise at the Event Village on Race Day.
iTab purchases will automatically be posted out a few days after the event. You do not need to do anything.
Need to update your registration, check you have entered, change your address or purchase merchandise after you have entered? Then visit myevents.active.com to manage your event registration. Registration will close at 5 pm on Monday 2nd March and no changes can be made after this time.
All finishers will receive a TWIN LAKES 20 Technical T-Shirt from S to XXL. Select your size when you enter. Actual design may change.
All finishers will receive a cool TWIN LAKES 20 Race Medal.
The presentation of the race awards will take place in the Event Village at 12:45.

TRAIL RUNNING ASSOCIATION
The Twin Lakes 20 is organised by Dirt Running under a license from the Trail Running Association (TRA). The TRA is an associate member of UK Athletics (UKA). The TRA supports UKA in the management and regulation of trail running, and through this association with UKA, the TRA is able to issue permits to race organisers on behalf of UKA.
TERMS & CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
All runners must be medically fit to compete and enter at their own risk and the organisers will in no way be held responsible for any injury, accident, loss or damage that may arise before, during or after the event as a consequence of their participation in this race. We do not offer refunds or deferrals under any circumstances. You can transfer your place – please see FAQS. No dogs or pushchairs are allowed.
IN THE INTEREST OF SAFETY
The race director and the emergency services reserve the right to stop the race at any time if deemed necessary. These would be in circumstances beyond our control and no refunds would be given.
